Adobe Install Can't Be Opened Installation Problem Solution

In my previous video https://youtu.be/s8HKBRnvZak I showed the problem I was having with the Adobe "Install Can't Be Opened" installation problem. If you own legitimate Adobe Creative Suite software rather than cloud versions, you'll know that when you login you can see your registered software with a downloadable message. But after I downloaded my registered software and tried to install it I came upon a serious problem that prevent may people from installing or re-installing their own software. This video shows the solution I used to install the software. I hope you like the video and subscribe to the channel and share it with others and groups where others may be having this problem. If you not using the cloud you need to know this solution for when you replace the disk or upgrade the machine. Malcolm aka  @FIXED1T  #fixed1tMACsupport #fixed1t #adobeinstallerror

Adobe Install Can't Be Opened Installation Failure

A lot of people have no idea how deadly the CLOUD is to our planet, it consumes millions of megawatts of power generating equal amounts of heat by pollution. If that wasn't bad enough, almost every smart phone on the planet is cooking the atmosphere to upload and download every picture or video they take on their devices and now the software companies are going cloud based which means gone are the days when you hold the software and manuals in your hands and install it on machines when you need it and every time you use it you use up the internet bandwidth or consume huge amounts of power to do what my generation did on a small reliable computer. Adobe has been leading the push to the cloud and if you use it, each year you pay for the software again and again and again and use more bandwidth, more power and pay for faster internet to get slower access. Luckily there are still some older versions of the software out there which can be legitimately purchased and licenses transferred, and the sites still have a download button if you need to re-install it. I did just this, update my software, transferred the license to me and downloaded the cs5.5 software to my machine GREAT! But look what happens when you download it and try to re-install it on your old mac machine. Some of you will already have come across this and given up, and gone to the cloud, others may be blissfully unaware thinking they have a safety net of the download on their account. Please watch this and if you want to find out the solution, Subscribe and you'll be informed of part 2 and don't forget to check out my other videos. SOPHOS Anti-Virus For Apple Computers

I'd used SOPHOS on the PC very successfully for many years, so I thought I'd give it a try out on my Apple MacBook Pro.  I had problems installing it on SIERRA due to the Apple OSX increased security since OSX9 and the SOPHOS instruction were somewhat vague.

In my usual #fixed1tMACsupport manner I set out finding a good way to get over the installation bug.

Here is the fix:

Once SOPHOS is installed correctly, as shown in the video above, then it works like a charm.

I ran it overnight and it worked its way through over 32 million files.  Not only does it spot and kill viruses but it also finds and removes adware and sneaky programs, it found Genieo on my system:

Its one of those programs that claims to be useful but isn't and is a bugger to remove.  SOPHOS removed it and 24 other Threats.

The best news about SOPHOS is its free and it works.

Please Note: I have a large collection of tried and tested #fixed1tMACsupport videos in a #fixed1t YouTube playlist:

on a range of tricky topics that can stop even the most serious users in their tracks.  So if you get some spare time rather than watching the latest crazy cat or dog video watch my fixes.  Forewarned will save you a lot of time should one of the problems arise.

Unlocking A Locked iPhone With Broken Touchscreen - update

Since making and uploading this video, Youtube has presented me with many others which claim to enable you to get access using the HOME button and restarting.

Be Aware That All Of These Will Completely Wipe Your iPhone And Set It Back To Factory Settings - this means that unless the iPhone has been completely Backed Up recently, you will lose everything.

Also, if you have forgotten your iCLOUD password and you do a factory reset, you phone will lock up and lock you out when you connect to iTunes and therefore iCLOUD

This Will Turn Your Phone Into A Very Expensive BRICK

Its much safer to use my method:

Unlocking A Locked iPhone With Broken Touchscreen

Unlocking A Locked iPhone With Broken Touchscreen

Due To Lack Of Disk Space From Making YouTube Videos!

I hadn't been able to back off my 64gb iPhone 5s

In trying to change the battery on an eBay purchased working 5s I discovered problems and damage inside and when I put it back together the touchscreen stopped working.  Despite having set up fingerprint control so I could get access without typing in the passkey word I discovered that this is de-ativated when the iPhone is restarted, So therefore I am locked out.

Here is what I did when I had the passcode but a non working Touchscreen To Enter It At The Prompt - Besides PANIC

iMovie and Final Cut Pro Import Error Upload Problems

Hi,

I've figured out why I have occasional problems with rogue imports on Mac iMovie and Final Cut Pro, it comes about when I am reviewing the content of one of the clips and I impatiently hit import, I know its this I've just impatiently done it again LOL whilst importing a 3D side by side video clip of a microscopic Red Ants Nest on my lawn.

Final Cut Pro Picture showing huge import in progress

Rather than importing just the clip or section of clip I want it starts downloading all the footage in the devices. The automatic response to this is to cancel the import by hitting escape. But the problem is that the system has already downloaded the thumbnails and details of the clips, even if it hasn't yet downloaded the clips.

iMovie showing missing video originals problem

These then become a block on future importing. The broken files then prevent you from uploading the video and can lead to missing images . #fixed1tMACsupport

Mac Photos Library Backup To Blu Ray - Part 4 Mac Toast 11 Pro

As I mentioned previously, that my MacBook Pro had Toast 11 on it and would not handle Blu-ray disks.  However, what I had was Toast 11 Pro:

As you can see from the picture of the box, it does have the software upgrade to handle Blu-ray drives and discs.  Opening Toast 11 Pro shows that it understands BD-R and other Blu-ray discs and that the TsstCorpBDDVDW SE-506CB drive has been found.

With the Gravity 3D Blu-ray disc installed in the TsstCorpBDDVDW SE-506CB drive, its 29gb disc size is visible.

However, as I had already upgraded to Toast 14 at this stage, I am not sure that the complete Blu-ray functionality is due to the Toast 11 Pro having all of it, or due to the fact that the installation of Toast 14 added the bits Toast 11 Pro needed.

I therefore will not continue this research using Toast 11 Pro, but will move straight to Toast 14, this will be covered in Part 5.

Mac Photos Library Backup To Blu Ray - Part 3 Loading Blu-ray disc

Having selected the:
Samsung SE-506CB/RSBDE Apple Mac Compatible Blu-ray Writer

I plugged its micro USB cable into my Apple MacBook Pro and of course nothing happened.

Assuming that my Apple MacBook Pro was capable of reading Blu-ray discs using the Apple Video Player, I decided to test the Blu-ray films compatibility with my Mac by loading a Blu-ray DVD.

I did a quick hunt around my DVD collection and found INCEPTION Blu-ray disc and put it in the Mac.
Picture of INCEPTION film on Blu-ray DVD

I am disappointed to say the disc did not spin up and start playing.  I disconnected the Blu-ray drive and restarted but absolutely nothing happened.

After searching the web and the Apple Support site I discovered that the older Apple Macs do not have support for Blu-ray drives built into them.

So Macs can't natively play Blu-ray DVDs, but rather than get side tracked into solving this problem, I decided to stay focused on backing up my Photos and Videos to writable Blu-ray discs.

The best disc burning software for the Mac has always been Toast. A quick get info showed I had Toast Titanium 11.2 installed on my Macbook Pro.

Picture Showing The Results Of Get Info On The Toast Application

As it was version 11, I assumed that it should be cable of seeing Blu-ray drives, so I opened it up and was disappointed to see that Blu-ray was not a recognised option.

So the next task is to look at updating my version of toast to one which is compatible with the Blu-ray standard. I'll cover that in my next blog entry.

edited Unboxing A Samsung SE-506CB/RSBDE Apple Mac Compatible Blu-ray Writer

Brad thanks for pointing out the dark matter at the end of my previous Samsung Blu-ray Writer video.  I edited it with youtube's own video editor assuming (wrongly) that it would be as good a quality and just crop the previous video.. but I was wrong.  It created a new one with the right length, but with somewhat vaseline coat graphics ;-) either that or filmed through a smoke filmed room.  Multi Billion Dollar Companies and they can't get simple editing right.  Malcolm (aka fixed1t) #fixed1tMACsupport

Mac Photos Library Backup To Blu Ray - Part 2 The Technology

Despite all the Hi-Tech things I do, I'm running a fairly old MacBook Pro 17" which is 3+ years old and I'm running Yosemite, as can be seem from the About This Mac dump below:

What can also be seen from the system report below is that although it can read and write to CD's and DVD's.  Writing to DVD's does give me the option of saving my data to 4.7 gigabyte DVD disks, but the 23gigabytes of video or photo sample data would eat 4 - 5 DVD's and take a long time to back up.

One would have thought that given that the Sony Blu Ray format has been around for a number of years, that the latest Apple drives would be able to Read Blu Ray and Write Blu Ray by now.

Unfortunately, my research has turned up a strict negative with this respect.  Apple Macs do not natively possess an internal Apple drive that can write a Blu Ray data disk.

So the problem highlight in the first video:

Mac Photos Library Backup To Blu Ray - Part 1 The Problem

Still needs to be resolved.

In the next blog/video I'll investigate the Mac Compatible Blu Ray drives I considered.

To Be Continued...
